This blog is about our family vacation in Santa Cruz, California.  Besides Paul and Mary we were joined by Jessica and her family (Will, Chloe and Liam), Josh and his wife Vanessa, and Mary's Mom, Phyllis, from Illinois.

June 19 - Santa Cruz and the Beach

Before everyone arrived May and Paul checked into the rental house that will be the home for all of us during the coming week.  We took a walk around town and saw many beautiful old Victorian homes.  

All of the highlights of town revolve around the waterfront.  

We also drove up to the Pigeon Point Lighthouse for a short visit,

walked along the coastline,

spent some time at Twin Lakes Beach (where lots of people were enjoying the water and a lovely day),

,

enjoyed Rocky Point and 

the Santa Cruz Anchorage.  Beautiful day. 

June 20 - At the Beach

We are all here and having a great time.  We spent a fair amount of time at the beach.

The views of the ocean were great.

And we saw lots of sea birds diving....

and just hanging around.

 

June 21 - Monterey

Today most of us took a drive down to Monterey.  There we visited the great aquarium...

including seeing birds at the aquarium.

We also saw jelly fish

sea horses,

and sea dragons.

We also spent some time along the bay...

and saw seals,

and kayakers.
